NETICS

As Sediment Engineers, we are very proud that we have the opportunity to use our extensive knowledge about sediments for the development of innovative technologies for the beneficial reuse of these sediments. We are continuously searching for new methods to stabilise soft sediments and transforming it into useful building materials. Especially methods based on a Building with and Inspired by Nature theme, which can be deployed for new climate adaptive, sustainable and affordable structures. NETICS owns a patent for making building blocks made out of soft sediments, the so-called GEOWALL® technology. This technology is also used for creating the erosion-resistant drains by the DrainUpGrader.

NETICS has gained much experience and worldwide recognition with their GEOWALL® technology. Applying this reuse technology brings great advantages in projects, since they can easily be combined with work already performed. Owners of soft sediment become builders of infrastructure and start earning money with their 'waste'. This gives new business models and opportunities for governments, project developers, contractors and users.

NETICS has also been contracted for the GARID project. Not for the DrainUpGrader, but to provide our knowledge and expertise about alternative reprocessing options for the dredged sediment from the Odaw (primary) drain in Accra. This is also in cooperation with the Ministry of Works and Housing. This direct link with the GARID project plays an important role in risk management, gaining support more quickly, and possibly a faster roll-out of the DrainUpGrader.
